To apply for a Student Visa the following documents are required by the Consulate :

  • Valid passport
  • Two colour passport-sized photographs.
  • University Offer letter having details of the duration of the course and confirming that the student is not taking the place of a local student. Students have to give an undertaking to inform the Department of Home Affairs if they de-register.
  • Academic qualification records.
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and maintenance.
  • Completed Student Visa Application Forms
  • Details regarding arranged accommodation in South Africa.
  • Confirmation and proof of payment for South African Medical Aid coverage with a medical scheme registered with the SA Medical Schemes Council. Cover must remain valid for the duration of the calendar year.
  • Medical and radio logical reports (less than six months old).
  • Yellow Fever vaccination certificate, if relevant.
  • A police clearance certificate for the past 12 months or longer since the age of 18.
